Established in 2020 by seasoned performers, Southside Performance Studio (SPS) swiftly emerged as the premier destination for aspiring actors and performers in Scotland, offering a comprehensive range of services encompassing acting classes in Glasgow, singing classes, and adult part-time acting classes. Our esteemed faculty comprises industry experts equipped with cutting-edge training methods aligned with Hollywood standards. Graduates of Southside Performance Studio undergo a transformative journey from novice to proficient professionals, actively engaged in the industry. With meticulously structured courses tailored to unleash the full potential of every actor and performer, SPS has garnered acclaim from leading Scottish publications like the Glasgow Times for its innovative initiatives and steadfast presence in the industry. Co-directed by Julie (singing) and Tharan (acting), Southside Performance Studio extends a warm welcome to individuals seeking self-improvement and a deeper understanding of the craft.
At the heart of our training philosophy lies a unique approach tailored exclusively to our institution. Our actors commence their odyssey through fundamental courses conducted in a personalised 1-to-1 format, facilitating individualised attention and skill refinement. Subsequently, participants transition to production courses, collaborating with peers of similar proficiency levels to further hone their craft through practical application. These courses encompass a diverse array of projects including short films, feature films, theatre productions, and TV series, offering a multifaceted learning experience. Following two years of rigorous training on our two-year part-time acting program actors attain eligibility for membership in Spotlight UK, the country's leading professional acting body, propelling them into the realm of professional actors eligible to audition for mainstream roles in TV, film, theatre, and commercials.
In addition to our core curriculum, Southside Performance Studio offers essential supplementary courses such as accent training, audition preparation, voice acting, writing, vocal coaching, and singing, equipping actors with a comprehensive skill set essential for success in the industry.
